Hello there! I’m Gypsy Rose. I’m a single mom of four great teenagers; a full time student working on my AAS degree in software development and a bachelors in Library Sciences; and I am an avid lover of Art in all its forms. I discovered my love for graphic design and website building in Spring of 2000 after purchasing my 1st computer and just about the same time that decided I would someday like to open my own coffee shop/book store.

I am a very creative person and love hand crafting gifts. I have been cross-stitching, crocheting and sewing since before my teens. It was because of these hobbies and the convincing of some special friends to sell my drawstring bags on consignment that expanded my wish from a coffee shop/bookstore to open my own shop. Hence the birth of Gypsy Rose Treasures. Of course that is not what I called my crafts at that time. The official “birth” of GRT happened in October 2005, when I got my domain and started building a website to sell my wares. I look at those beginning pages and shake my head. I must say I am very happy how far my knowledge for web design has come.

GRT started with just my crocheted and sewn drawstring bags. Very quickly, it expanded with my love of candles. I had been making my own candles since 2001 for personal use only, but discovered the wonderment of soy wax in 2005 and decided that it was time to start making money from a hobby I so enjoy! So another addition to Gypsy Rose Treasures – GRT’s Candle Shoppe! I love making candles and it makes me feel good when someone tells me how much they love burning my candles. Eventually, I just started adding more and more products to my catalogue; all derived for my love of things such as faeries, dragons, pirates, writing, reading, gardening, incense, teas, and so much more.

I integrate my beliefs into GRT, but I am open-minded to others’ beliefs. I am a strong believer in treating others how I would like to be treated. I also respect the fact that others do not follow the path I do, however I do expect that same respect in return.
